Welcome to Ari’s rickety Minneapolis home, inherited from a possibly gay Aunt. The garage has been remade into Lila’s tattoo studio, and the garden might soon house goats. Upstairs, Fable is casting spells in search of elders, while Sherman sits on the roof considering a new name. Across the country, Daphne’s memories have grown a mind of their own and are currently shambling their way down the interstate in a makeshift physical form. In this house, identity is mutable, the boundaries between our own world and the next are thin, and acceptance can come from the least expected of places – found community, chosen family, ghosts, and even demons.
Read what critics are saying about HOUSE OF TELESCOPES:
“House of Telescopes is a beautiful piece, wonderfully designed and fabulously performed and crafted. Filled to the brim with questions and experiences around trans identity, it is universal in its message of acceptance, love, and embracing every piece of yourself to truly find the beautiful and unique you.” – Brittany Crowell for Front Row Center
“Charismatic performances across the board keep you invested in each character… a play that will alternatively lift you, touch you, cry with you and comfort you” – Austin Fimmano for Plays to See
“Playwright Kairos Looney has given us a gift in these painfully beautiful moments.” – Tony Marinelli for TheatreScene
