Brave New Works was Pipeline’s very first ever second stage event, and served as a celebration of emerging companies throughout NYC who are specifically dedicated to creating original works for the theater. Each year, Pipeline would bring together a dozen young companies to each present a short original performance, one after the next, on one stage, for one night. Collectively, the seven Brave New Works presentations included original pieces conceived by 26 playwrights, 24 directors, and 98 performers, and presented through dance, music, clowning, puppetry, monologues, spoken word, sketches, and scripted one acts.
