As you may already know, Pipeline has launched a new play reading series called OUTLOUD! that will run on dark nights in conjunction with our upcoming production (The Caucasian Chalk Circle) at Theater for the New City.
[Note: those of you who are familiar with our dark night productions of Brave New Works, do not fear! Brave New Works is happening too— on March 15th!]
All director and playwright submissions were due yesterday and boy! did we get a lot! I would just like to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who submitted material. We are overwhelmed (in a good way!) by the outpouring of materials that were sent to us. We are so excited to have heard from not only familiar faces, but also new artists! We are so looking forward to reading your one acts, cover letters and bios! (in fact, in their excitement, I think Jenny, Ari, and Meagan have gotten through most of them already!)
If you are reading this and thinking “OH NO! I didn’t submit anything! I have missed the opportunity of a lifetime.” Have no fear! We are always looking for work from new playwrights, and for new collaborators of all kinds. Send your stuff to [email protected] and don’t forget to let us know how you heard about us! 🙂
