Meet Carol Gottshall (and then, right after you read this, hurry up and come to Felix & The Diligence OR Hung Up to see her artwork!)
Carol grew up in Pennsylvania, then attended New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study. She is a writer, a runner, a nanny, and a competitive karaoke champion. She lives in Brooklyn with her roommates.
Q: How did you first discover your artistic abilities?
A: In college, I was a member of the Gallatin coloring club. We colored and ate baked goods. One time we decided to put together our own coloring book, and I drew a picture of a dinosaur to submit. Then I kept drawing pictures of dinosaurs and coloring them. Eventually I started drawing other animals. This week I drew my first caveman, and it went okay.
Q: Describe your artistic style.
A: Simple and inaccurate. I have a hard time picturing what things actually look like, so I generally just guess. I also try to make things look cute.
Q: When were you last on a boat?
A: Coming home from Ikea.
