What medium of art do you work with and why?
I work with photography, theater and music. My reasons for working with them are different for every medium. Photography is fantastic for capturing moments, since it is so instant. I play music to express what I feel rather than what I see, and I do it alone. Theater is collaborative storytelling to me, and I love being part of a cast or company. I think theater and music are about sharing one’s own opinion of the world; showing what life used to be, or what it might become, whereas photography is more about capturing and showing the world as it is.
How does the word “adventure” relate to your work?
I am a nomadic soul. Really. I love traveling, and to move from place to place. To me, seeing and experiencing a new culture is an adventure….
When were you last on a boat?
This summer. It was one of the most terrible trips in my life, to be honest. The boat was rocking so much that you couldn’t even stand up. I got so sea sick that I stayed in the bathroom for three hours straight – my face was actually green.
How old were you when you drew your first giant squid?
I was merely six years old. I remember that I named him Moses and gave him to my mother.
