We are pleased to announce that this January 16-18, we’re presenting our inaugural Matchstick Series: Anywhere But Here, a night of short plays, each set in a different time and place, as imagined by the Pipeline PlayLab. The event will take place at The Red Room, a newly renovated prohibition era event space on E. 4th St. Mark your calendars now!

Meet Our Directors
Jaki Bradley is a Brooklyn-based director. Recent projects include GOOD MEN WANTED (Ars Nova, ANT Fest), A Scavenge (Williamstown) and What Every Girl Should Know (FringeNYC, TONY Critic’s Pick). She has also developed and presented work with The Public Theater, Naked Angels, and Atlantic Acting Studio. As an assistant/associate director, she has worked with Michael Greif, Daniel Aukin, Daniel Goldstein and Daniella Topol. Jaki has researched international theatrical traditions in Malaysia as a U.S. Fulbright Scholar and in Bulgaria as a part of the Rhodopi International Theatre Lab. She is a member of the Williamstown Directing Corps, the Lincoln Center Director’s Lab, and an SDC fellow.
Liz Carlson is a freelance director and producer based in New York City, and the Artistic Director of Naked Angels. Her primary focus is the development of new plays and musicals. Liz has worked at Cape Cod Theater Project, Dallas Theatre Center, The Dramatists Guild, EST, The Flea, Keen Company, Manhattan School of Music, Manhattan Theatre Club, The New Group, New York Stage & Film, Playwrights Horizons, The Playwrights Realm, Rhinebeck Writers Retreat, Signature Theatre Company, Studio 42, |the claque|, Williamstown Theatre Festival, and more. MFA: The New School for Drama. Alumna of The Drama League Directors Project.
Daniel Johnsen is a Pipeline founding ensemble member and Pipeline’s founding artistic director. Directing credits with Pipeline: Felix and the Diligence, Giant Killer Slugs, Psycho Beach Party, and The Love of the Nightingale.
Isaac Klein is a director and writer. He assistant directed the recent Broadway revivals of West Side Story and GYPSY. Recent directing: COLLAB 2014 [BAM]; Kooman & Dimond’s Still Not Famous [The York]; Nate Weida’s I’s Twinkle [Pipeline]; Kooman & Dimond’s Dani Girl [Exit, Pursued By A Bear, co-directed with Ed Iskandar]; Nate Weida’s Byuioo [Judson Church]; serials@theflea; Devin Preston’s See Jane Give Up Dick [NYC Fringe]; Pzazz 101 [pzazz101.com]. Recent writing: book and lyrics for Legend of The Word [The O’Neill National Music Theater Conference, Abrons Arts Center, LPAC]; the prophecy of isaiah [Guild Hall]; currently writing a theater craft book with Gerald Freedman entitled The School of Doing. BFA: University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
Andrew Scoville is Brooklyn based theater director. He works mostly in creating original work and developing new plays. His original work is geared towards exploring the impact of technology on the human condition and works with programmers, coders and designers to utilize new technologies to tell his story. These types of works have been seen at 3LD Art and Technology Center, Ars Nova, Incubator Arts Project, and Joe’s Pub. He is co-founder/co-director of Fresh Ground Pepper, a not for profit arts organization that develops emerging artists through a series of developmental programs and artistic challenges. He works closely with director, Alex Timbers, most recently restaging Here Lies Love at The Public Theater in NY and The National Theater in London.
Jesse Thurston is an actor and director, newly relocated to New York from Chicago. He recently developed Steph Del Rosso’s play MixTape with Bookshop Workshops and directed Sarah Einspanier’s short play Duduk for the Samuel French OOB Festival. In Chicago, Jesse directed the world premiere production of Aaron Ricciardi’s new musical Teeny Travel Takes a Trip. He is a proud graduate of Northwestern.
Annie Tippe is a NY-based theater director and performer. Directing credits include Dave Malloy’s Ghost Quartet (The Bushwick Starr, 5-Star NYT Critics Pick), Aaron/Marie (with Rachel Chavkin, Under the Radar Incoming! Series; PRELUDE Festival; Ars Nova ANT Fest), I Heard Sex Noises (ANT Fest), DEBUTANTE. (Bernie Wohl Center; ANT Fest) and A Quiet Sip of Coffee (Wildside & Summerworks Festival, Canada). She was last seen performing in I’m Miserable but Change Scares Me (New Saloon). As an associate and assistant she has worked with directors John Tiffany, Rachel Chavkin and Bob Balaban. Williamstown Theater Directing Intern 2012.
Gabriel Vega Weissman is a New York based director and playwright. Gabriel has directed productions across New York as well as at the Williamstown Theatre Festival and Edinburgh Festival Fringe. In 2014 he was a member of the Lincoln Center Directors Lab. As assistant director his credits include numerous off-Broadway and regional productions as well as the 2013 Broadway revival of The Winslow Boy. His play Desire Under the MALMS won Best Play in the Secret Theatre’s one act play festival and he is currently at work on a new full length play and a pilot.
